Row-Solution Intersections
Intersections on an opportunity map are where you can view details of the opportunities added for the relevant solution and account/division. (Or in the case of a cell on a roll up row, details of opportunities for the relevant solution and all accounts/divisions within the roll up).
In the example highlighted below, clicking the highlighted intersection will display details of the 'Support & Maintenance' opportunities that exist for the 'Ancaster Global' account.
An intersection can contain three kinds of opportunity, each of which is contained within a color-coded cell:
-
Potential opportunities. These are ideas for deals that may be worth pursuing. As yet the opportunity is unqualified. It represents an idea that you may be able to sell a particular solution into the account.
- Current opportunities. These are active deals that are already in the sales cycle and have Salesforce opportunity records.
- Won opportunities. These are deals have already been won. The opportunity record's stage in Salesforce is Closed Won.
You uncover potential opportunities by learning about the customer’s strategy, business drivers and initiatives.
On the opportunity map, they're color-coded blue.
See Add, Edit, or Delete a Potential Opportunity.
On the opportunity map, they're color-coded green.
See Add Current or Won Opportunities to an Intersection.
On the opportunity map, they're color-coded purple.
When you hover over an intersection cell, the cell is highlighted with the relevant color, such as green for current opportunities in the example shown below.
Clicking a particular cell opens the relevant tab (Potential, Current or Won) of the intersection dialog.
