Qualifying a Potential Opportunity

A potential opportunity represents an idea that you may be able to sell a particular solution to a particular account or division. The idea may or may not develop into a current opportunity.

When you've determined that a potential opportunity is a real opportunity worth pursuing, you 'qualify' it. This converts it into a current opportunity.

Note: This functionality can be disabled by your administrator.

To qualify a potential opportunity:

  1. Click on the potential value that you want to qualify - as highlighted in the example below.

    This opens the Potential tab on the solution dialog.

  2. Click the Qualify icon (as highlighted in the example below).

  1. Specify the opportunity details and click Save.

On closing the dialog, you will see that the opportunity has moved from the Potential column to the Current column.
