Creating the Altify MCP Server Custom Connectors in Claude Desktop

The following walks through the practical steps for connecting the Altify MCP servers to Claude Desktop using the custom connectors feature.

  1. In Claude Desktop, click your name in the bottom-left corner to open the user menu, then select Organisation settings.

  2. Select Connectors in Organisation settings.

  3. Click Add and select Web in the Custom menu.

  4. In the Add customer connector dialog, complete the following fields:

    • Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g. 'Altify Opportunity Finder MCP' for the Altify Salesforce server)

    • Remoter MCP server URL: Enter the MCP server endpoint, e.g. https://retrieve.mcp.altify.dev/mcp for the Data Retrieval server.

All five servers are listed below (including the Sandbox equivalent if you are testing the MCP servers in a Sandbox org):

Server Endpoint for production orgs Endpoint for sandbox orgs
    Altify Account https://account.mcp.altify.dev/mcp https://account.mcp.altify.dev/test.salesforce.com/mcp
    Altify Salesforce https://salesforce.mcp.altify.dev/mcp https://salesforce.mcp.altify.dev/test.salesforce.com/mcp
    Altify Analysis https://analysis.mcp.altify.dev/mcp https://analysis.mcp.altify.dev/test.salesforce.com/mcp
    Altify Retrieve https://retrieve.mcp.altify.dev/mcp https://retrieve.mcp.altify.dev/test.salesforce.com/mcp
    Altify Write https://write.mcp.altify.dev/mcp https://write.mcp.altify.dev/test.salesforce.com/mcp
  5. Expand the Advanced settings and enter the following from your External Client Application:

    • OAuth Client ID (optional)

    • OAuth Client Secret (optional)

Note: The OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client secret can be obtained on the Settings tab (see OAuth Settings) of your custom Salesforce External Client Application. Your ECA may include separate credentials for each server.

  6. Click Add.

  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for each of the five Altify MCP servers listed in the table. Use the appropriate endpoint for each server — only the sub-domain changes between servers. When complete, all five should appear in your Connectors list with the type Web and category Custom.

For more information, see Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP in Claude Support.

Troubleshooting

If MCP tool calls fail with an invalid x-api-key error, this means the key entered above is not valid for your Claude account — it is not an Altify configuration problem. To resolve, generate a new API key directly through Claude and then update the API Key field on the Altify MCP Configuration record with the new value.
